MIGRANTENEXPRESS tells stories of flight and migration with a focus on Iran. The interdisciplinary project focuses on individual life stories that not only address the challenges and opportunities of a new start in a foreign country, but also shed light on the profound questions of identity that affect many refugees and migrants.

Who am I there and here? Who can I be? What shapes me? The experience of flight as an identity crisis.

Based on an unconditional urge to understand what flight means for oneself and others, the piece uses songs, dance and spoken text to explore life before flight, the journey and arrival. 15 artists have come together to paint a multi-layered picture of migration and the experience of flight, combining biographical, documentary and fictional sequences.
